FREE Hosting Services Are Provided With ALL Service Contracts

Most web hosting services are roughly the same in pricing and features. The Open Source software that MirageLab uses as the engine for client sites runs on Open Source server software like Linux, Apache, PHP, and mySQL. This set of applications represents the current majority standard for websites, world wide.

Platforms like Microsoft's Internet Information Server (IIS) only see ROI in an enterprise environment. There is no need to spend that much if it is not absolutely necessary.

MirageLab does not require clients to use MirageLab as the host. As long as the server is running PHP and mySQL, MirageLab will fully support the client site. In the vast majority of cases, both of these will be found on hosts that run some version of Unix server platform with Apache as the web server.

If the client changes hosts, MirageLab will continue to support service contracts for sites that continue to be hosted with the above required components.

Your domain name registrar is in charge of your DNS Server Listing. This lets the internet know which DNS Server owns your domain name. When the internet updates the DNS (Domain Name Server) IP address phonebook, it updates from your domain name registrar. Your IP address (or the IP address of your virtual host) tells traffic which server your site is on.

One common mistake made with websites is that the host will be changed, but the DNS Server is not updated, resulting in the site being down unless other measures are taken.
